Safran Irish Coffee

Safran Irish Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 40 ml Irish whiskey
  • 120 ml of freshly brewed, hot coffee
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 10–15 saffron threads
  • Whipped cream (lightly whipped)
  • A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg (optional, for garnish)

Procedure:

  1. Saffron infusion: Soak the saffron threads in a small amount of warm water (about 1 tablespoon) for 5–10 minutes to release their flavor and golden color.

  2. Prepare the coffee: Brew a strong cup of coffee. In a heat-resistant cup or glass, combine the hot coffee, sugar, and saffron-infused liquid. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Add the whiskey: Pour the Irish whiskey into the coffee and stir gently to combine the ingredients.

  4. Whipped cream: Lightly whip the cream until it’s soft but still able to float on top of the coffee. Use the back of a spoon to slowly pour the whipped cream over the coffee so that it settles on top in a nice layer.

  5. Garnish: If you like, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon or nutmeg over the whipped cream for extra flavor and decoration.

This "Safran Irish Coffee" combines the warm, robust flavors of coffee and whiskey with the subtle, luxurious taste of saffron, making it the perfect elegant and cozy drink for chilly evenings.

Elevate Everyday Meals with Saffron

Throughout history, saffron has been known for its distinctive color and unique flavor. Its deep-red threads have enriched countless dishes with their intense aroma and color, and today saffron remains a sought-after ingredient in kitchens around the world.

Saffron’s popularity is largely due to its unique ability to add depth and complexity to both sweet and savory dishes. With just a small amount, typically around 30 mg, saffron can elevate the flavor of everything from rice dishes and soups to desserts. Saffron is known for being a luxurious ingredient, and its special properties make it a favorite among chefs and food lovers.

When using saffron in cooking, you not only get a unique taste experience but also an aesthetic enhancement to the food.

So if you want to elevate your culinary creations, saffron is a fantastic choice. Always choose high-quality saffron to ensure the best flavor and color in your dishes.
