Saffron Star Martini

Safran Star Martini cocktail med safrantråde, serveret i et martiniglas ved siden af et glas prosecco.

Ingredients:

  • 40 ml vanilla vodka
  • 20 ml passion fruit puree
  • 15 ml fresh lime juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup (1:1 sugar and water)
  • 10-15 pieces of saffron threads
  • 1 whole passion fruit for garnish
  • 60 ml champagne or prosecco (served on the side)
  • Ice cubes

How to proceed:

  1. Saffron infusion: Start by soaking the saffron threads in a small amount of warm water (about 1 tablespoon) for 5-10 minutes to release the golden colour and aroma.

  2. Prepare the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, add vanilla vodka, passion fruit puree, lime juice, simple syrup, the saffron-infused liquid and ice cubes.

  3. Shake well: Shake the cocktail vigorously for about 20 seconds so that it is well chilled and all ingredients are perfectly mixed.

  4. Serving: Strain the cocktail into a chilled martini glass. Halve a passion fruit and place one half in the drink as a garnish.

  5. Champagne on the side: Serve a small glass of champagne or prosecco alongside the cocktail. You can choose to pour it directly into the drink or sip it on the side for a bubbly experience.

  6. Decorations: You may want to sprinkle a few saffron threads over the drink for an extra luxurious look.

This Saffron Star Martini combines the fresh and sweet flavour of passion fruit with the subtle spicy depth of saffron and the elegant fizz of champagne for a particularly exotic and sophisticated take on a classic.

Make Everyday Food Exclusive with Saffron

Saffron has been known throughout history for its distinctive colour and unique flavour. The deep red threads have enriched countless dishes with their intense aroma and colour, and today saffron remains a sought-after ingredient in cuisines around the world.

Saffron's popularity is largely due to its unique ability to add depth and complexity to both sweet and savoury dishes.
