Saffron Daiquiri

Safran Daiquiri cocktail med is og safrantråde

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml white rum
  • 20 ml fresh lime juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup (1:1 sugar and water)
  • 1 tsp saffron threads
  • Ice cubes
  • Glue disc or saffron threads for decoration

How to proceed:

  1. Saffron infusion: Soak the saffron threads in a small amount of warm water (about 1 tablespoon) for 5-10 minutes to release their flavour and beautiful golden colour.

  2. Prepare the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, add the white rum, lime juice, simple syrup, saffron-infused liquid and ice cubes.

  3. Shake well: Shake the cocktail vigorously for 15-20 seconds so that all the ingredients mix well and the drink gets nice and cold.

  4. Serving: Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

  5. Decorations: Garnish the drink with a thin slice of lime on the rim of the glass or sprinkle a few strands of saffron for a luxurious look.

This Saffron Daiquiri is an elegant take on the classic daiquiri, with the exotic and subtle flavour of saffron adding a special dimension to the cocktail. Savour it!

Saffron has been known throughout history for its distinctive colour and unique flavour. The deep red threads have enriched countless dishes with their intense aroma and colour, and today saffron remains a sought-after ingredient in cuisines around the world.

Saffron's popularity is largely due to its unique ability to add depth and complexity to both sweet and savoury dishes.
